Classic air conditioning: $6,000,000 sale of air conditioning store opens
Air conditioning stores have been a big seller in Australia since the 1980s.
The company that has become one of the biggest in the country is Parker Air Conditioning, which has been selling air conditioning units for about $6.000,00 since the early 1990s.
But it recently sold a business in Melbourne’s north-west to the company’s owner, Peter Parker.
The new owner of the shop is Dan Poon, a former retail manager who has been running the business since 2003.
He was able to get $6 million dollars from the sale of the Parker Airconditioning business.
He said it was “very rare to see a business go into receivership, so it was a very difficult decision” but he “got it done”.
He said the sale was “an investment that has been a huge asset to the business” and would be able to support the business going forward.
The Parker Air conditioners are the only air conditioners in Australia that do not require a water filtration system and can be easily installed in homes.
Mr Poon said he was “happy” to continue operating the business, but that the store would no longer be open for business.
“I think it’s a very happy day for Parker Air, it’s been a very tough few years for us,” he said.
“We had a lot of people leaving the business and a lot went out of business.”
The business has been sold and I’m happy with that.
“It’s a shame for us, we have an amazing business. “
There are very few customers that come to the shop, and that’s really disappointing,” he explained.
“It’s a shame for us, we have an amazing business.
We have had some wonderful customers come in.”
Mr Pong said the business had been selling about 200 air conditionors a day and that he would have liked to see it continue to do that.
“Parker Air Conditioners has been the best thing to happen to Australia,” he told 7.30.
“That business is a big part of what we do, but unfortunately it’s just not possible to keep doing it, we need to sell it and start again.”
